THE TRADITION

House Raduha was established all the way back in 1875 and has a long tradition of taking good care of its guests. Four generations of women have been in charge of the pension, each one of them facing their own problems and keeping up with the visitors's expectations.

We have long been famous for:

  • great cuisine, traditional Slovene dishes with an innovative twist,
  • cozy accommodation,
  • very homely setting and a personal connection,
  • supporting the local farmers and artist, and using their products in our house,
  • and being a small, boutique, family operated business.

From great-grandmother's simple dishes onwards, our food has always been rich, tasty, and beautiful to behold.

Martina, the present chef and owner of the business, has been awarded several times for her originality and high quality of cooking. The most recent was the title 'Cook of the Year 2013' by Skiarea testsieger in the European Alpine region.

We have been offering accommodation to our valued guests for a long time, in simple rooms at first, developing slowly into the modern and varied options.

THE DREAM

It all started four years ago with the old hayrack that was standing on our garden. We renovated our old house and expanded the accommodation options. The unique Slovene building for drying hay now combines tradition and luxury into a perfect getaway. And that was just the beginning.

A memory from the past, when the children were playing in the woods around the Savinja river, had inspired the idea of a tree house.

Our vision was to:

  • build eco-friendly accommodation by combining local wood and stone,
  • raise the unit above the ground and between the tree tops,
  • include all the comforts one expects from a luxury guest house,
  • and create an innovative architectural design that reflects the shapes of a typical hunting lookout.

Our Hayrack and Tree house projects were recognized for their innovative approach to tradition and awarded the highest national prize for projects in tourism.

YOUR SUPPORT

The renovation and projects were a huge investment for a small family. It was not easy. We took it slowly, step by step, but to finish our latest project, the second tree house, we need your support!

The framework is done, but there is still a lot of work left for us to finish this little nest above the ground.

We have created a range of rewards for you to experience the best of what we have to offer.

The money raised through this campaign will go towards building and finishing our second tree house, but the good news is that you don't have to wait for us to complete it! As soon as the campaign ends, you will be able to make a reservation in one of our existing lovely units.

We will keep you apprised of our progress and when the opening ceremony draws near, the TravelStarter backers will have the first option of making reservations. You will be able to stay in the very dream you will have helped create!

SLEEPING IN THE TREE TOPS

The tree house, a cozy little love nest, which will lull you to sleep with its view of the gently flowing river.

Our second tree house will be styled similarly to the first, but with its own little details to create a unique experience. We will also include small improvements on the previous design, details that have become apparent through working with our valued guests.

** INTERESTING FACT:

The wood used on the tree house is larch. It is common in our area and was used for building alpine huts for centuries. We build the tree house by using the old methods of cutting the trees during the special phase of the moon. And since we did not use any chemicals on the outside, the color will fade to silver gray and will completely blend with its surroundings.
