Project Location

Plave, Nova Gorica, Slovenia

Our green idea is that Herbal House becomes a real family garden retreat. To be able to pamper our guests and fulfill our dreams we need to create a spacious Green Room amidst house meadows and beams. The Green Room would be a natural open-air wellness & selfness zone with wooden deck chairs, herbal baths, pillows and flowers all around.

Meet our family and help us build the Green Room we are dreaming of. Our Herbal House, full of herbs and home-made delicacies, has already two scented rooms for guests where you can feel, touch and smell the biggest natural treasure of Slovenia, the third most forested country in Europe. Everything in Herbal Rooms is home-made and reused. My father Ivan is a wood master, my mother Karmen is herbal expert, a gardener and great cook who enjoys creating our culinary workshops and my boyfriend Robert is keen photographer and outdoor lover. I am Vesna, founder of Slocally, a small travel company that encourage to experience Slovenia with locals

We have always been a family who enjoyed pampering our friends. Village life in Slovenia is simple but rich because of so many natural sensations. From when I was a little girl my parents took me to never-ending walks where we were hand-picking herbs and goods. After we came home we would dry them and make our own tea bags and spice mixtures. Our friends were so happy to be served with a special family tea blend that we started to make more and more herbal gifts for them including soaps, balms and pillows. My father was fired from his job. Now he is dedicating all his time to wood carving and taking care for Herbal House. I will never forget a family dinner with legendary home-made frtalja dish. It was such a normal evening with such a big idea that popped out of nowhere. We should make Herbal House here! Yes and it will be 100 % slocally (Slovenian + Local), my brother added. This is how our family herbal story begun two years ago. We were working night and day to empty two former children’s rooms and decorate them into two scented herbal rooms. Now our house is our guests´ house and our Slovenia will be yours too, if you help us achieve our dreams and create the open-air Green Room in So?a valley.
